Security and defense system for land objects
Fiber optic sensor with localization of unauthorized access
Function
Long-range detection and localization of the threat. The range is relevant to the concept for protection and the level of security and reliability required.
Operation of the system
The main concept is based on analysis of Rayleigh light scattering which propagates in buried in the ground optic fiber as a sensor. Light impulses from semiconductor laser of high coherency, which generate Rayleigh signal, are introduced in the fibre. If in its neighborhood any mechanical disturbances from pressure or seismic waves appear, they produce phase variations in the signal, which can be detected after electro-optic analysis.
